Change your Mind

Change your Mind… aka the first THING. The first THING is not to suggest that you (or anyone else) need to change your position, your beliefs, your ideals or your leanings.  This is not about what you “should or shouldn’t do.”   This is about a huge opportunity to improve the quality of your life, by changing the way you look at things. By changing your mind about how you see things.

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”

                                            -Wayne Dyer

Do they actually change? Or do YOU change?  Your perspective changes as you are able to choose a wider and more pleasing picture.  You choose it. You get to pick! And as you do, the things you start to notice change. It’s all there.  It’s a matter of what portion of your reality comes to the forefront. You don’t create anything.  Everything that has been, or ever will be, has already been created.  You get to choose which part of creation you will experience.

“You can change your perspective in any situation by changing your mind about how you want to ‘look at it.’  You can decide what you want to see, and then, having placed it there, you will find it there.”

-Neale Donald Walsch

Some would say this is a recipe for delusion…  “What do you mean??… You just decide what you want to see? And there it is?  That sounds kinda like delusion, doesn’t it?” Admittedly, there’s a fine line.  But it’s a clear line that you can control, and it can be the difference between angst and peace.  We’re not talking about convincing the world that up is down, that red is green, or that you can play in the NBA.  We’re talking about shaping your perspective to benefit you… whenever it doesn’t hurt someone else, or you. Examples: Rain is always welcome when it’s raining.  Apparently, this parade needed rain! George is not a complete idiot, he’s operating at his current awareness.  This is all he can do in this moment. This flat titire is a necessary, unexpected, and welcome detour.  I’m gonna enjoy the experience.  ALL of it. Thank you! This traffic is awesome. I will let folks know that I’ll be a little late, and then I’m gonna thoroughly enjoy a few miles of conscious breathing.  Hey, then maybe I’ll hit play on that audiobook by Wayne Dyer.  What a great development. I’m grateful that my kid was cut from the team.  It doesn’t feel real good at the moment, but I am absolutely certain there’s a better, brighter picture developing. None of these examples is delusion.  It is perspective.  It is choice. This is where changing your mind serves you and the greater good. For now, David
